As a follow up to a tremendously successful campaign that we produced for Burson-Marsteller (one of the largest public relations firms in the world) to raise awareness about drinking and driving (see the spot right below), they have called back Tupelo Productions to produce another scripted PSA this time raising awareness around safety of NYC Department of Transportation workers maintaining the most complex urban transportation network in the world (see the new spot at the bottom of the page).

For the new PSA, along with producer from BM, Tupelo Productions oversaw every aspect of this enormous endeavor that recreated three distinctive work zones within a set that spanned the distance of 2 football fields. Between the talent and crew we managed close to 70 members. We used close to a dozen picture cars. To light this enormous set we were drawing close to 120,000 watts of electricity.

We managed:
--- location scouting
--- casting
--- logistics
--- creation of storyboards and animatics
--- full-service production
--- filming and direction of the spot

We cast the spot using the real DOT workers:

And professional actors (over 400 actors auditioned):

Since the set was HUGE (again, spanning distance of 2 football fields), to streamline the production and simplify communication among the team members we produced real-scale 3D model of the location where we could place heavy equipment, point out camera placements, show lighting and cable runs as well as show where it was safe to stage extra production equipment.

We visualized the script with storyboards then proceeded to fine tune timing and logistics of each shot with 3D animatics.
